TFtember: Transformers#8

"Repeat Performance!" the Transformers#8 (September 1985) with credits to Bob Budiansky (script), William Johnson (pencils), Kyle Baker (inks), Nelson Yomtov (colors), Rick Parker (letters), and Christopher J. Priest (editor)

Ratchet hauls tailpipe to the Savage Land, wherein he promptly finds Slag buried. Uncovering him, he jumpstarts the Dinobot's memory and Slag agrees to throw in with the Autobots. Mostly so he can fight Shockwave again.

Speaking of Shockwave, he checks in with Megatron and is pleasantly surprised to find his former boss has succeeded in transporting the head of Optimus Prime to their new factory/base. Inside the plant, after easily crushing the army forces that attacked, Shockwave prepares to create a new generation of Decepticons using Prime's matrix!

Ratchet contacts Megatron and arranges a meeting on a nearby mountaintop. Ratchet shows him footage of the Dinobots. Megatron threatens to kill Ratchet, thus breaking their deal. Ratchet points out, one) that footage was from a few million years ago, and two) he didn't come alone.

Cue the Dinobots: Grimlock, Snarl, Swoop, Sludge, and Slag we already know. The fight is awesome, but Megatron stills comes out ahead. Ratchet tries his best, but Megatron is just too powerful. Sadly the cliff they are fighting on isn't and the Decepticon is sent screaming over the edge into the abyss.

Our third plotline is back on Josie. She's still in the hospital, but now we see one of her arms is now imprinted with circuits. She blasts her TV and remarks how soon she'll be checking out...

We finally see the proper introduction of the Dinobots. They still lose but we do establish a good rivalry with Shockwave.
