TFtember: More Than Meets the Eye, Part 2

"More Than Meets the Eye, Part 2", The Transformers, September 18 1984.

And we move into the second part of the pilot.

When we last left our heroes, the oil rig was ablaze and Sparkplug and his son Spike were in serious danger. Traibreaker and Wheeljack extinguish the flames while Optimus Prime rescues the humans. Taking them back to the Ark, Spike explores the caves around the ship, during which he finds a strange blue cassette radio.

Soundwave (i.e. the radio) and Ravage wait until they're alone before hacking into the Autobot's computer to search for more energy. Spike, who had been riding around with Hound, finds the Decepticon and sounds the alarm. Soundwave escapes but not Ravage.

The next day, Megatrom orders an attack on the nearby Sherman Dam. The Autobots rush to stop them, with Optimus and Megatron dueling atop the dam. The Decepticons retreat but they got what they wanted. Thanks to their efforts their ship is nearly ready to fly.

When they decide to raid a ruby mine in Burma, the Autobots rush to stop them again. With Wheeljack's new explosive in hand, Sparkplug and Bumblebee go into the mines to sabotage the Decepticons. Pity they get caught. Optimus Prime sends in his roller unit, but the mine explodes, sending him tumbling down the mountain.

Pretty good, even if it is odd that Optimus Prime and Megatron have energy weapons built into their hands. Also that all the other oil rig workers either vanished or drowned beside Sparkplug and Spike.

Spike also gets smacked pretty hard by Rumble yet seems perfectly fine.

The action is fast paced and we see more of the other characters in action.
