"More Than Meets the Eye, Part 3", The Transformers, September 19 1984.
And thus the pilot ends.
Optimus rolls down the mountainside, but is none the worse for wear. Sparkplug and Bumblebee are ok too! Pity the Decepticons are too.
Back at the Autobot base, a plan is hatched. With Ravage still locked up, Hound and Mirage chat about a massive fuel supply they found and wow, they just happened to leave a key to the cells within paw reach. When he reports back to Megatron, the Decepticon leader gloats that's exactly what they need to complete their plans!
So naturally Starscream chooses this moment to attack. Megatron easily defeats him and they prepare for the morning.
The Autobots are ready too. They've made a giant hologram replica of the base and lie in wait. They don't wait long when the Decepticons attack, but the Autobots are shocked when the enemy robots fall apart like cheap knockoffs.
Megatrom gloats and he should. He saw through their ruse at once. While he was thee leading the fake army, the real Decepticons are attacking the real base. They succeed and soon their ship if ready to blast off.
The Autobots prepare a last ditch effort, but even Optimus Prime is no match for Megatron...but they notice that Mirage as vanished. Yup, seems Mirage is using his invisibility to its full effect and snuck on board for some sabotage.
With the Decepticon in flames and crashing into the ocean, the Autobots cheer while Spike mentions how the Autobot ship is being repaired and how great it's going to be to visit another planet.
As far as pilots go, overall pretty good. We see everybody in series one and get a hint of what they can do. The Autobots do come across as chumps for a bit in this episode in particular what with Megatron outwitting them at nearly every turn. That actually works though, as we see the Decepticons being a real threat.
