Lupin III: Legend of the Gold of Babylon (1985)

Lupin III: Legend of the Gold of Babylon (1985) dir. Seijun Suzuki/Shigetsuhu Yoshida, Tokyo Movie Shinsha

Going, Going, Gone: Bank Checks

Checking back in with the vanishing of Americana, and our next chapter focuses on bank checks. Again, an odd thing to be nostalgic over but at least this is something that is in danger of vanishing.

We open with a history of checks. Seems some people were against them, with one subject holding off getting one until the 1980's.

The chapter ends with the idea that people might be one day never use them again and I can see that. Credit cards and the phone are both cutting into checks as of now and I could see them going away someday. Not right now, but for now I'd definitely put this under 'going'.

The Castle of Cagliostro (1979)

The Castle of Cagliostro (1979), dir. Hayao Miyazaki, Tokyo Movie Shinsha

Feeling pretty down, so why not revisit one of my favorite films and probably what got me into Lupin the 3rd in the first place?

Updates

Ok, low content for a while, but we'll be back full time in May for the Superstars Profile series, June Bugs in June, and the return of the UWF to finish off the summer.

So to you lucky handful that have stuck around, check them out.

Re-Writing the Book: WrestleMania IX

While there have been many wrestling pay-per-views of variable quality, nearly everyone agrees on one review-that WrestleManis IX was utter garbage. So, assuming I was working for the WWF back in 1993, what would I do?
