Shark Week: Shark Swarm (2008)

Shark Swarm (2008), dir. James M. Contner, Larry Levinson Productions/RHI Entertainment/Silverstar Ltd.

Apparently there is an entire series called Maneater?

Hamilton Lux (Armand Assante) is rich. Disgustingly rich and very used to getting what he wants. Naturally, when local fisherman Daniel Wilder (John Schneider) and his wife Brook (Daryl Hannah) refuse to sell him all their land so he can build condos, well, he gets a bit miffed.

Miffed, in that he floods the waters with poison. If all the fish are dead, Wilder can't make any money thus he'll be desperate to sell!

And it works, but the poison only kills the fish. Sharks are immune and now they are hungry as well as now having insane levels of strength and cunning. Can the Wilders survive?

Eh. Decent body count but when we barely know the characters it doesn't have as much of an impact. Plus, if all the food is gone, wouldn't the sharks just leave? Of course they are now coked up sharks, maybe that explains it?

Performances are okay. Everyone knows their roles and play them as straight as they can muster.
