The Vengeance of She (1968), dir. Cliff Owen, Hammer Films-Seven Arts
1965's She was a hit, why not a sequel?
Carol (Olinka Berova) is plagued by dreams. It seems that she is the reincarnation of Ayesha and the dreams are calling her back to the lost city of Kuma. Kallikrates (John Richardson) is Ayesha's lover and he wants her back as well, as does Men-Hari (Derek Godfrey), priest of the city who itches to become immortal.
If Men-Hari can bring Carol back to Kuma, Kallikrates will allow the priest to bathe in the sacred fires and become immortal. It will also increase the priest's mental powers to near god-like levels. Men-Hari has opposition, mainly in the form of his father Za-Tor (Noel William) and Dr. Phillip Smith (Edward Judd), who has fallen in love with Carol.
With Carol leading the way they easily find Kuma. Once there, will the power mad priest achieve his goals?
Weak; Carol is no Ayesha and Berova is no Ursula Andress.
