Silent Night, Deadly Night 2 (1987) dir. Lee Harry, Lawrence Applebaum Productions
Sometimes a film that comes around that sets the standard and raises the bar; and then sometimes a film that comes around that just has enough screwy sense to at least make a meme.
Little Ricky (Eric Freeman), brother of poor Billy Chapman, has grown up. Not too well, as he's currently in a mental hospital as his latest court appointed psychiatrist Dr. Bloom (James L. Newman) tries to make some headway.
Tries being the key phrase here, as Ricky is overly hostile at best. He does answer the doc's questions, mostly by flashing back to the first film. Seriously, half of this film is footage from the first. Creative or lazy-you decide.
We spend a LOT of time with Billy (parents killed by Santa, raised by crazy nun, goes nuts and kills people). Ricky got lucky and got adapted. No attempt to help him with his trauma though. Ricky grows up and does alright at least until he gets annoyed, then people end up dead.
Cue the internet meme:
This ends with him jailed and brings us to the present. Of course, Ricky isn't going to let a little thing like being jailed keep him from spreading some Christmas cheer, especially to dear old Mother Superior (Jean Miller).
Yeah, a clip show. Still, Freeman does more acting with his eyebrows than some actors do with their whole bodies.
