Frankenstein 1970 (1958) dir. Howard W. Koch, Aubrey Schenck Productions
Boris Karloff and Frankenstein? Surely a winning combination, right?
We have a monster stalking through fog shrouded woods but before it goes on too long we find discover the monster is an actor.
Yeah, seems a film crew has the idea of shooting a Frankenstein film in the perfect place-Castle Frankenstein! Baron Victor von Frankenstein (Karloff) is aghast at the idea of his home and family's legacy being used for such cheap exploitation but he needs the money.
One could make a meta joke about this, but perhaps later.
Seriously, Frankenstein needs the cash to fund his experiments. Building a monster ain't cheap you know and he decides to cut some corners and some parts of the crew.
Not the worse thing ever, and Karloff elevates the film even when he clearly shouldn't have bothered.
