The Hound (1997)

The Hound (1997) dir. Anthony Penta, Pentaworks

The first published mention of the Necronomicon and the Mad Arab, Abdul Alhazread. Dare we continue?

Our narrator (Scott Alan Hoye) and his best pal St. John (Steve Toth) are just two chums living the dream in bleak English countryside. They get by on grave robbing, even having a little museum of sorts in the basement.

One day they hear of rather unique grave. Seems a grave robber of some repute was buried in an old Holland cemetery some time ago. They figure to pay their respects, i.e. loot the crap out of it. And they do, but all the while they followed by the constant howling of a giant dog.

They find a beautiful amulet around the corpse's neck and take it, but in doing so they unleash a terrible curse. Can they escape it in time?

Shockingly good, considering the running time. A bit cheap on the visuals but that adds to the charm.
