Raging Sharks (2005), dir. Danny Lerner, Nu Image Films/Tosca Pictures
In the depths of outer space, two spaceships crash into each other, with the flaming wreckage plummeting to Earth. Five years later, the Oshona is complete.
What is the Oshona? Why only the most up to date technological marvel ever devised! Yup, the most advanced sea lab ever built, and what do they find? Crystals! Crystals surrounded by strange wreckage, discovered by site manager Mike Olson (Corin Nemec).
This is impressive, so much so Mike leaves for the surface. Once he's gone, some of their workers head outside to do some basic repairs when sharks attack. Mike's wife Linda (Vanessa Angel) leads a rescue attempt but not do they fail, more sharks appear. They also turn their sharky attention to the lab itself, resulting in them losing both power and oxygen.
Mike gets word though and soon a rescue mission is mounted. Jonas (Jonas Talkington), one of the scientists, discovers the reasons for the sharks going crazy: the Crystals!
Worker Harvey (Binky van Bilderbeek) discovers this too, quickly going full Gollum over his 'precious'.
Can Mike rescue his wife and friends?
There is a ton of stock footage but the gore effects are ok. Not great, but ok. Everyone is clearly do their best, and sometimes that's all you can do.
