"Megatron's Master Plan, Part 1", the Transformers, October 14, 1985
We open with the Decepticons attacking a city. They easily crush the city's tanks but thankfully the Autobots arrive and drive them off. The mayor is so thankful he announces he'll honor them at the City Hall.
Everyone is happy, everyone except Shawn Berger though. He wants to be mayor, but with the Autobots now being linked to the current administration? Yeah, he isn't as likeable as Bumblebee so that isn't happening.
He muses, ignoring the odd cassette on his desk. He doesn't ignore it when it turns into Laserbeak and kidnaps him.
He's taken to Megatron, who promises to help him win his city, provided he does a small favor for them. What favor?
Why, to tell the truth about the evil Autobots, of course.
As the Autobot prepare for the celebration, Berger witnesses the Autobots attacking an oil field and gloating about taking over the Earth. Berger shows the tapes at the celebration, turning the crowd against them and leading them to be arrested.
Spike tries to get the evidence to clear his friends, but Ravage moves in for the kill...
Declared guilty, Berger convinces the public to push the Autobots off the planet via rocket and has them deported back to Cybertron.
He gloats, but before his eyes Megatron overrides the ship's controls and detours it from Cybertron to the Earth's sun...
Actually pretty suspenseful. Megatron's plan actually makes sense and gets carried out in a rather clever way, although if you think about it from a legal perspective this is utter nonsense.
