TFtember: Transformers#13

"Shooting Star!" the Transformers#13 (February 1986) with credits to Bob Budiansky (script), Don Perlin (pencils), Al Gordon (inks), Nel Yomtov (colors), Janice Chiang (letters), and Mike Carlin (editor)

Say, remember Megatron? He hasn't been seen since issue eight. I'm sure he's around somewhere...

Joey Slick is a three-time loser. At the moment he is running for life deep in the woods with two goons hot on his heels. Just when things are at their lowest, Joey stumbles across what appears to be a Walther P-38. It seems to be jammed but when the thugs dare Joey to fire, the gun does.

Finding refgue, Joey tries to figure out the gun's deal, unaware that it's Megatron, who happens to be stuck as a gun since his battle with Rachet. Joey doesn't know that, however, but what he does know is he finally has an edge. Which is good as crime boss Lomax wants him dead.

Joey for once isn't worried. With Megatron in hand he kicks off a one-man crime wave, easily beating the cops and getting stinking rich. With his pockets bulging with cash and everyone finally giving him the respect he once wanted, Joey starts to have doubts. Is this the life he really wants? And what will happen when Megatron regains his memory?

Honestly this might be my favorite yarn so far. A small character moment and Megatron, despite being an inert gun for most of the story, has some of the best lines.
