TFtember: Autobot Spike

"Autobot Spike" the Transformers, Sept. 23, 1985

So, season 2 kicks off with an episode from Frankenstein research guru Donald F. Glut. I wonder what it could be about?

Sparkplug is about to unveil his latest invention-Autobot X! Cobbled together from various bits and pieces of Autobot parts, he supercharges the thing...and it promptly runs amuck.

Before they can put the rouge robot in storage, the Decepticons attack a nearby Air Force base. During the fray, Bumblebee gets smacked around a bit. Not a huge deal, except that Spike was inside him at the time. Rushing him to the nearest hospital, one of the doctors idly wonders if they could put Spike's mind in another body while they work to fix his current one.

Figuring why not, the Autobots do just that. Spike is less than pleased at this development but manages to calm down. Wheeljack figures some Earth Tv should relax him. Pity the channel he tunes to is showing a Frankenstein flick. Spike sees more than a few parallels to his current state and he isn't happy. Another rampage later and he flees to the outside.

Megatron manages to track the wayward Spike down and convinces him to attack the Autobots. Will Spike destroy his friends?

For a new season we see pretty much the same cast as the last one, but good character development. You'd think Spike would stop rushing off into battle zones after this, but nope, still rushing off.
