Nouveau 52, part 5

Still on the Justice League kick.

Black Canary: Another slightly different take. The Black Canary is another legacy character, although one that doesn't seem as brought up as much.

Golden Age: Dinah Drake is a gal who wants to be a cop in Metropolis, but given the time she is turned down. Officially she becomes the gal Friday for Larry Lance, PI, unofficially she dons the leather of the Black Canary.

Silver Age: Dinah Lance, daughter of Dinah the elder and Larry, takes up her mother's mantle and heads west. There she hooks up with Green Arrow

Year 1: Sin, adopted daughter of Dinah, becomes the next Black Canary. She moves to Gotham and works mostly low level crooks, but a few reoccurring villains.

Year 2: Sin formally joins the Bids of Prey

Martian Manhunter: I've always had some issues with J'onn J'onzz. He's redundant. A detective (like Batman), last survivor of an alien race (like Superman). Heck, even early issues had him being stalked by a woman with double initials who was trying to prove his identity. How to make him different?

Golden Age: Martian J'onn J'onzz is brought to Earth by mad scientist Dr. Erdel in 1938. The lab explodes, killing Erdel and leaving J'onn stranded on Earth. He stays by himself for a few years, but in 1943 with the rise of super heroes, J'onn decides to shape shift into various humans. He's John Jones, PI, but he's also the masked Manhunter. When Paul Kirk starts using the same name, J'onn retires as a hero.

Silver Age: As the Martian Manhunter, Jo'nn joins the JLA. He takes over the team in the 80's, but more or less retires in '86. He acts mostly as a mentor by this point.

Cyborg: Victor Stone is a jock on the fast track to success, at least until he's caught in a lab accident at his parent's lab. Rebuilt as a cyborg, Victor first joins the Teen Titians and stays with them for a bit, but in Year 2 he joins the Justice League full time.

Hawkman: Bit of a snarl with this one.

Golden Age: Carter Hall is an archeologist. He discovers he's the reincarnation of the Egyptian prince Khufu. With his new memories, he finds a set of wings made from Nth metal. Khufu, it seems, befriended some visiting aliens from the planet Thanagar. With the wings, Carter tracks down his former flame and former wife Shiera Saunders. Together they become Hawkman and Hawkgirl.

Silver Age: Both Carter and Shiera died in action during WW2. Their souls are reborn on Thanagar, as Katar Hol and Shayera Thall, respectably. Both go into law enforcement and both are picked to monitor Earth. Finding the old hideout of the Halls, the two alien cops become Hawkman and Hawkwoman.

Bronze Age: Fel Andar is from Thanagar and wishes the respect the Hols have earned. He figures the best way is to kill them and replace. He manages to kill Hawkman, but Shayera exposes him.

Year 1: Kendra Saunders, cousin to Shiera, almost dies. When she recovers, she finds she now has the memories of Shiera and Shayera. She's a bit put out by this, as she'd rather just be a student than flying around. at least until the Gentleman Ghost shoots up her coffee shop. She rejects the past and wants to move forward.\

Year 2: Who is the Hawkman? Human Charlie Parker finds the Nth metal rig of Carter Hall and somehow gets the memories. Is he Carter reborn, or is he something else?

Justice Society of America: The biggest team of the Golden Age. Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Wildcat, Dr. Fate,  Mr. Terrific, the Spectre, the Sandman, the Atom, the Star Spangled Kid, Stripesy and Hawkman join together to fight the evils of fascism. Pretty much the same as the old series really. The team disbands in the 1950's.

Justice League of America: Formed in the 1960's when aliens attack. Wonder Woman, Black Canary, Green Arrow, Martian Manhunter, Captain Marvel, Green Lantern, the Flash band together to fight to save the Earth. The teams disbands in 1985.

Justice League International: Rising from the ashes of the JLA, the JLI is formed by businessman Maxwell Lord. The roster: Booster Gold, Blue Beetle, Guy Gardner, Rocket Red, Martian Manhunter, Fire, and Ice. Together they fought against world threatening menaces until Lord's death at the hands of Triumph in 1997.

JLA: Year 3. Darkseid arrives and unleashes hell. Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, Green Lantern, Cyborg, and Aquaman join forces to fight the forces of Darkseid. From there biggest team faces the biggest threats.

26 down, 26 to go
