Real name: Jim Ross

Oddly enough, the following isn’t about the famed wrestling
commentator. Jim Ross was an odd duck in the horror host hall of fame. Like so
many others, photos and video are rare to the point of nonexistence, but of all
the hosts Ross brought something interesting to the table. Instead of playing a
vampire or mad scientist, Ross would dress himself up as a monster related to
whatever film Shock Theater was featuring that night. On
KGUL channel 11, viewers would watch Mr. Hyde one week and the Frankenstein the
next.
Sadly that seems to be about all the information that could
be found. Some sources put his active years as 1956 through 1959, others 1958
to about 1961. He was on television, even if no can agree when.
