"Chaos", the Transformers, September 30, 1986
One of the better animated episodes of the third season and this one focuses on Kup.
Kup is telling one of his war stories to Blur, Wheelie, and Grimlock. Grimlock mentions a monster he one heard of, causing Kup to freak out and order the Dinobot to never mention that planet or monster ever again.
Wreck-Gar, meanwhile, is calling Cybertron about a neat thing he found-death crystals!
Meeting with Wreck-Gar ends with them being attacked by Decepticons, who are using the crystals as weapons. This causes Kup to flashback to his younger days. He had been captured by slavers called the Orbs and forced to work in their dangerous mines. He was planning a rebellion with the other miners but one encounter with a monster in the mines prompted him to flee for his life. He's been haunted by act ever since.
Turns out he might get a chance to redeem himself, as Galvatron is building a cannon to shoot pure death crystals at anything he wants, including Cybertron.
Decent. Good animation helps too, but we get a good focus on Kup and his backstory.
