Troma's War (1988), dirs. Lloyd Kaufman/Michael Herz, Troma Entertainment
Bring this feature back and we're nearing the 90's.
A plane crashes near an uncharted island. The passengers that survive are a mixed bunch, ranging from yuppies like Kirland (Patrick Weathers) to rugged vet Parker (Michael Ryder). Things are looking up when a group of armed men find them.
Things start looking down when the men machine gun several of the survivors and take some hostage. Turns out the group is part of a larger ruthless terrorist organization, determined to rule the world!
Things are looking grim, but then Parker gets ahold of a machine gun. Being ruthless and stricken with AIDS is no match for hot lead.
Yeah, this isn't a serious film. Parker alone manages to massacre most of the terrorists by himself. The terrorists, including a young Joe Fleishaker as a terrorist, are all over the top. Senior Sida (Paolo Frassanito) is a special mention. If you like Troma, this is a watch. If you hate Troma, then this will convince you were right.
