Aroma of Troma Week: Squeeze Play (1979)

Squeeze Play (1979) dir. Lloyd Kaufman, Mountain Productions/Troma Entertainment

After the disappointment of Big Gus, What's the Fuss? Kaufman and company decided keep with the comedy but add one thing they felt was lacking-copious amounts of nudity

Set in a small town, one of biggest things around is softball and the best team is the Beavers. Yup, they're the champs of the Mattress Workers Softball League. They eat softball, they live softball!

And their girlfriends are all sick of it. The gals, lead by Samantha (Jennifer Hetrick) form their own team just to beat their boys and get them back in a loving mood. Pity none of them have the talent...at least that is until Mary Lou (Melissa Michaels) rides into town. She's on the lam but she's got an arm that pure dynamite.

With Mary Lou as their star pitcher can the Beaverettes pull off an upset?

Not terrible. Not as sleazy as other grindhouse flicks with just enough cheeky if not lowbrow humor that is sure to not be the worst way to spend an hour and a half.
