Vampirella 2, or Why I Don't Write for a Living

Why not dust this old chestnut off?

1979

In a crumbling seaside carnival, there's pretty much only one act that's making any real bank: The Amazing Pendragon (Peter Cushing) and his magic box!

See a beautiful young women enter and leave as a bat!

Vampirella (Barbara Carrera) is silent but behind the scenes she's even more tight lipped. The carnies figure that an old booze hound like Pendragon couldn't have come up with a new act like that and they're right.

Conrad Van Helsing (Christopher Lee) and his son Adam (Robert Stewart), meanwhile, hear about this amazing act and decide to investigate. They're not the only ones, as an old man (John Carradine) sends his agents to bring Vampi and Pendragon back his sprawling estate. They are rather insistent too.

The old man lays it out. He's old and he knows he's dying. He's done some awful things plus the whole selling his soul bit means his afterlife isn't looking too rosy. He summons his demon (Andre the Giant) just to make sure they don't get any ideas about leaving.

What does he want? To become a vampire, of course!

Yeah, he figures Vampirella is a vampire. True she reflects and seems indifferent to holy objects, but eh, must be minor points. Vampires live forever, and if he becomes a vampire he'll live forever thus never go to hell!

A brilliant plan, pity Vampirella doesn't do requests. That's ok, the old man insists. If she refuses, he'll just transfer his brain into a healthy young body (Adam Van Helsing).

He keeps her chained up with Conrad, who is starting to change his mind about her, and Pendragon. When she's near mad with thirst, she agrees. She bares her fangs and drains the old man dry.

The demon then shows up and starts wrecking the house. Seems the old man should have done his research. Vampirella is an alien, not an Earth vampire, thus her bite does nothing but leave some holes in his neck.

Since the old man is dead his soul is now condemned. The demon, now free from his enslavement, destroys the house and kills the old man's agents as our heroes flee for their lives.

Conrad still wants to kill Vampi, but he sees her more victim than monster. Adam sees her a hero for saving them. Pendragon promises even bigger acts as they drive off into the night.
