The Music of Erich Zann (1980)

The Music of Erich Zann (1980). Dir. John Strysik, Lurker Films

And the Summer of Love(craft) continues! We pretty much hit most of the films and TV, so why not go into the shorts?

Charles Dexter Ward (Robert Rothman) is a student of metaphysics. He's a studious sort but lately he's been utterly entranced by music coming from the upstairs apartment. After chatting with the landlord, he discovers the identity. One Erich Zann (Robert Alexander), formerly a professional musician of some quality yet now seems to be spend his waking hours playing odd tunes.

He's soon at the old man's apartment and he's delighted. The two become friends, but Ward can't help but notice Zann has what seems to the apartment's sole window and that the old man has barricaded it tight. Odd, especially since the old man has the only view of the street behind their apartment. Why won't he look outside?

Ward is curious, but he'll soon wish he wasn't...
