Re-write the Book: Mantaur

Going through the old tapes, and found this dude. Mantaur! He's a minotaur and a man! He was in the WWF long enough to get a cup of coffee and Jim Cornette as a manager. Could the character be saved?




He was in the WWF as Mantaur from January to July 1995. Not long enough to leave much of an impression, plus 1995 wasn't the best year for mainstream American wrestling. ECW was still finding its hardcore legs and that left WWF and WCW.

So McMahon gets Mike Halac under contract. And a minotaur is the best idea? If you gave me the character I'm not sure what I could do, aside from letting Cornette do all the talking and just feed Halac a steady stream of jobbers. Make him a monster heel, literally until a brave hero comes in and stops him cold. Bret Hart would be a good choice. Have him chase the Hitman for a bit, maybe a handicap match between Halac, Bret and Davey Boy Smith?

If given Mike Halac, I might have gone a different route. Maybe call him minotaur, or Monster Mike. Just have him be a big guy who hurts people. Not seeing any gold in his future, but he could still compete for a few titles. At least keep Cornette to do all the talking and get rid of the mooing.
