Highlander: The Raven, or why I don't write for TV

Had another Highlander flashback. Highlander: The Series was decent, but the spinoff managed to kill the franchise on the small screen. What would I have done?

Since the series was going to focus on Amanda (Elizabeth Gracen), let's focus on her character. She was a thief. Occasionally moral, occasionally decent, but in the end her self preservation was a bit too strong.

We would open in New York City, circa 1979. Det. Bob Wolfe (Paul Johansson) is on the hunt for a daring jewel thief. He manages to corner her on the Brooklyn Bridge, but she smugly leaps off into the freezing water. The jewels aren't recovered, and Wolfe is haunted by the one criminal that got away.

1998-Inspector Nick Wolfe of Interpol is tracking down Amanda and he can't help but notice how much she looks like the same thief his father chased. A coincidence, surely.

The first main story arch would be Amanda dealing with Kenny (Myles Ferguson). Kenny is an Immortal too. He's been 11 years old since 1182 and he's bit mad about that. Amanda was the first Immortal who showed kindness to him, so he's decided that the one thing he's really missing is a family. Amanda will be the perfect one. Nick is a part of the plan too, as Kenny has found a way to transfer souls, or so he thinks. He's mostly nuts. But with Nick tied and doped up, Amanda makes a choice.

She beheads Kenny. Of course, Nick passes out before the Quickening, so he's left thinking his jewel thief is a murder as well. Since he's Interpol he can also track her down wherever she goes.

It would be resolved as Amanda explains what she is. Nick would write this off as crazy and from there more Lupin the 3rd as Amanda would plan heists, sometimes for her own benefit or sometime for a greater motivation. Nick would be a more reoccurring foe.

I'd keep the Queen soundtrack though.
