One of the longer lasting hosts, Fritz the Nigh Owl first showed up on Double Chiller Theatre out of Columbus in 1974 on WBNS-TV Channel 10. Running seven nights a week from '74 to 1991, Fritz was practically a local institution.
Starting in 1992, Fritz moved to Nite Owl Theatre over on WCLS-TV Channel 62. The show was much smaller, in that it only ran five days a week. The show ended in 1995, possibly due to even Fritz needing to sleep at one point.
Nite Owl Theatre came back in 2001 on WCLL-TV Channel 19 but the curtain was temporary closed in 2003. Fritz lives up to his name as the man has been doing jazz shows on Ohio radio and even doing theater show. Seriously, I feel like a slacker just looking over this guy's resume.
