Nouveau 52, part 3

I hope everyone had a decent Thanksgiving.

With the holiday bit out of the way, let's focus on the last part of the DC Trinity.

Wonder Woman has always been a character that DC never seems to know what to do with. With the insanely convoluted Donna Troy, to the fact that every creative team feels the need to give her a new supporting cast/origin/rogues (seriously; If Dennis O'Neil started out his run by moving Batman to St. Louis and making him a gym owner and ignoring Robin, Alfred, etc., would the character still be around?), the character has been in bit of mess. Plus even when they do the big re-launch all that seems to do is mess things up even more.

So what would I do with the Amazing Amazon? Aside from the series, I'd have her rogues a bit fleshed out more. Superman fights mad science and corruption, Batman extreme criminals, so with Wonder Woman I'd focus on a blend of the two with a healthy dash of mythology. Gangs based on Gorgons, etc.

Sensation Comics-Again, an anthology. Wonder Woman's never really been based in a fictional city that much, so I'd focus on her supporting characters. Steve Trevor, Etta Candy, the Holliday Girls, etc., which would run side by side with...

Wonder Woman- One thing that DC has over other characters is their legacy characters, and that would be my main contribution.

First (in a nod to the 2017 movie), aviator Diana Prince crash lands on Themyscria around 1916. She is found and taken before the Amazon Queen, Hippolyta. Upon hearing of the outside world (and the raging War to End All Wars), the Queen ventures forth, battling Ares along the way.

Next, and moving into the Golden Age. It's now 1940 and the world is once again on the brink of war. Hippolyta, sensing the tides of war ages ago, forms two daughters from clay; Diana and Nubia. When Steve Trevor finds the island (using Diana's notes), Hippolyta gives a tournament to determine who will be the island's representative to Man's World. Diana wins over Nubia, but only barely. From there Diana is now Wonder Woman. She helps form and lead the Justice Society of America and fights against war and injustice well into the 1950s.

Silver Age-1960. Wonder Woman again must return to Man's World to stop the Appelaxians from invading with other heroes of the day. From there they from the Justice League. She stays active until the Amazons vanish sometime in the mid-1970s. Donna Troy is Wonder Girl. Her origin? Orphaned girl found by Hippolyta-raised among the Amazons. That's IT. She retires and moves to Gotham around 1976 and lives a quiet normal life.

Bronze Age- Nubia is found working in a mod clothing store. She slowly regains her memories and powers as she tracks down her missing sisters. With the help of the JLA she succeeds and takes her place on the team as the new Wonder Woman.

A crisis happens around 1985 and the Amazons return. Nubia retires and goes home.

Year One-The Amazons feel the need to rejoin the world, or at least stop being so cut off. It is decided that Diana and Nubia both shall go and observe. Setting up shop in Capital City (actual city Wonder Woman was based in for a period in the 60's), they observe the coming of the Batman and Superman.

Year Two-Who is Wonder Girl? Cassie Sandsmark is a girl who just borrowed a bunch of ancient relics from her archeologist mother and now has some powers of her own. Pity Zeus feels that she's a thief.

Year Three-The Female Furies arrive, led by Big Barda, and she's looking for Scott Free and the Anti-Life Equation. And what Big Barda wants, she gets.

They do fight, but Barda starts to see things the Amazon way and remembering her love of Scott Free. She defects, but can even love stop Anti-Life?

15 down, 37 to go.
