Horror Host 2018 Retrospective: Millicent B. Ghastley

Real name: Barbara Ends
Years active: 1985-1986

Kicking things off this year by looking at the hosts of Kentucky, we take a look at the host of Monsterpiece Theater, Millicent B. Ghastly. Airing for a brief time on W-LEX Channel 18 in Lexington, Millicent shared duties with the Little Blue Guy, a puppet.

Not a ghoul or mad scientist, Millicent seemed to be more valley girl than vampire. Funny enough the show ended, not because of ratings, but the leads moving east.

The whole history of the show can be found at Millicent's site, found here.

Re-write the Book: Mantaur

Going through the old tapes, and found this dude. Mantaur! He's a minotaur and a man! He was in the WWF long enough to get a cup of coffee and Jim Cornette as a manager. Could the character be saved?

Yar, it be flogging a dead horse time

Let it never be said there wasn't a trend we couldn't cash in on.

But the hour tis late, and me mind be rambling with thoughts of rum, fire, and the lash. Also me sea legs be swollen with the rich man's plague, thus the need to be cutting this scurvy screed short.

With many a thanks to Tom Smith

Re-Write the Book: Aces & Eights

Looking back at TNA, I'm honestly surprised it lasted as long as it has. One feature the bookers seem to love is invaders. I think something tallied it up, and TNA has been 58% of its existence. Among those many stables were the biker themed Aces & Eights stable. How would I handle it?

Animation Block: Fist of the North Star

It's been a while, but I finally finished all 152 episodes of Fist of the North Star. Quite a bit to unpack here, but right now I'll focus on the first series.

Howard Lovecraft & the Undersea Kingdom (2017)

Howard Lovecraft & the Undersea Kingdom (2017) dir. Sean Patrick O'Reilly, Arcana Studio

Now we come to the end, not of the summer, but of the Summer of Love(craft) 3. With this review, I throw the whole series back into the stygian depths until either next year or until they make more stories based on the works of H.P. Lovecraft.
