Aroma of Troma: Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger IV (2000)

Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger IV (2000), dir. Lloyd Kaufman, Troma Entertainment/Cineguild Entertainment Group

Nearing the end, so why not take a look at Troma's biggest star?

It's a normal day at the Tromaville School for the Very Special. Normal that is, until the Diaper Maffia takes the building over and starts executing the students.

Thankfully the students (the ones still alive that is) have a friend. The Toxic Avenger! (David Mattey) also his sidekick Lardass (Joe Fleishaker).

One explosion and dead sidekick later, Toxie finds himself trapped in Amortville, a weird backwards world. In this world, the only hideously deformed creature with superhuman size and strength from New Jersey is called the Noxious Offender (also Mattey) and he's as bad as Toxie is good.

What of the Offender? He ends up in Tromaville. He's so bad, Mayor Goldburg (Ron Jeremy) is forced to recruit a series of superhumans, including the drunken mess of a cop, Sgt. Kabukiman (Paul Kymse). Noxie easily kills all of them save for the sarge.

Can Toxie return home? And who's the father of Sarah (Heidi Sjursen)'s twin children?

Nice to see a Troma film with an actual cast and even a budget. This was before the whole multiverse thing blew up. Odd to see it played straight here; although I do like that Toxie's girlfriend is Sarah in one world and Claire in the other.

As for everything else, eh. Very gore heavy, more so than the original even. A bit immature in that respect but not the worse thing Troma has ever done.

Total waste of Lemmy though.
