Shark Attack (1999) dir. Bob Misorowski, Martien Holdings A.V.V./Millennium Films/Sharkey Productions
Winding down, so let's take a look at a direct to video offering.
Scientist Mark (Cordell McQueen) is in South Africa researching sharks. Seems there has been a lot of attacks lately and Mark has sworn to get to the truth. Pity that someone doesn't like that, and two goons proceed to help Mark get more in touch with his work, i.e. feeding him to a group of sharks.
Steven McKray (Caspar Van Dien) is Mark's best buddy, so when he fails to hear from him, off he goes to find out what happened. He finds Mark's sister Corine (Jenny McShane) though, and Mark's rival Miles (Bently Mitchum). Miles has the idea to cure disease by harvesting sharks.
Is he the one behind all the reported attacks? Is it shady hotel owner Mr. Rhodes (Ernie Hudson)?
Yeah, this breaks down into a Scooby-Doo-ish twist rather fast. Everyone does what they can, but the good actors are too good and thus making the bad ones even worse.
