While there have been many wrestling pay-per-views of variable quality, nearly everyone agrees on one review-that WrestleManis IX was utter garbage. So, assuming I was working for the WWF back in 1993, what would I do?
Dark match
Tito Santana VS Papa Shango
Winner: Tito wins as before, but here I'd include it in the broadcast. Good send off to Tito.
WWF Intercontinental title
Shawn Michaels (c) w/ Luna Vachon VS Tatanka w/Sensational Sherri
Winner: I'd have Tatanka win, but instead of a count out I'd go with a DQ, caused by Luna and Sherri brawling.
The Steiner Brothers VS the Headshrinkers w/Afa
Winner: Scott and Rick as before
Crush VS Doink the Clown
Winner: Doink as before
Bob Backlund VS Razor Ramon
Winner: No one, as this would a match I'd cut. Ramon made Backlund look like a chump. Personally I'd have Ramon start feuding with Michaels at this point.
WWE World Tag Team titles
Money Inc. (c) VS the Mega Maniacs w/Jimmy Hart
Winner: This one is tough, but I'd go with Hogan and Beefcake taking the titles.
Lex Lugar VS Mr. Perfect
Winner: Lex, as before
The Undertaker w/Paul Bearer VS Giant Gonzalez w/Harvey Wippleman
Winner: I understand wanting to keep the Streak alive, but why a nearly naked bigfoot? So, instead of the giant disappointment, why not Owen Hart? He didn't work in April. Prior to this PPV, his last match was with High Energy losing to the Headshrinkers. So why erase that match and have Owen Hart come in fresh? His reason? Well, since brother Bret is defending the title why shouldn't he take on the toughest dude on the roster? 'Taker wins though.
WWE Championship
Bret Hart (c) VS Yokozuna w/Mr. Fuji
Winner: Here is where we change the most. Bret retains the title, kicking off a feud. Hogan can come out and give a hand post match. Passing the torch. Move onto the King of the Ring and Hart can lose the title to Yokozuna after beating Bam Bam Bigelow for the King of the Ring final. Hart, to prove that he's a fighting champ, enters into the tournament and defends the title at the same time. He loses to a fireball to the face though.
